Alignment: the placement of text and images. Could be left, center, or right-aligned, or aligned from page-to-page.
Crop: resizing or editing an image’s aspect ratios.
CSS: an element of coding which modifies graphics on a website’s design.
Font: specific face and size of text.
GIF [image]: image file saving option for small graphics with low quality preservation requirements; animated image file.
Grid: map or rubric used to define alignments and placing of website design and content.
Hex code: code that correlates to a six-figure color; usually starts with the # symbol.
Height: distance of text from top-to-midline, midline-to-base, or top-to-base.
HTML: coding language that displays website content: i.e. words, graphics, hyperlinks, etc.
JPEG [image]: image file option with slight loss in photo resolution upon saving; typically used for photographs.
Leading: spacing between lines of text.
Navigation: how users navigate or go through the processes of your website.
Orphan: 1-3 leftover or lingering words after a paragraph of text.
PNG [image]: image file saving option that best preserves color and resolution; especially useful for transparent images.
Visual hierarchy: an element of design that carefully organizes and communicates messages based on text color, font, and size.
Weight: face of text; i.e. light, bold, demi-bold.
